Image Usage Terms

Licenses 

Advertising 12 Months – Above the line:

Images downloaded under the ‘Advertising 12 Months – Above the line’ license can be used for multiple uses for a single company or entity within an advertising context for a period of 12 months from the date of publication/use of the image for the first time.
Usages permitted under this license include:

Billboards
Metrolites, Ilites, Superlites
Film, Video &TV Programmes
Packaging
Book covers

All territories worldwide are covered by this license
If you wish to use the image for more than one company or entity, the license needs to be purchasedfor each separate company or entity. The license is non-exclusive and the image will continue to be available for purchase to other buyers on our site.  

Buying the high-resolution image (purchasing the license) does not transfer the copyright. You may not claim that the image is your own and you may not sell, license for use, or in any way distribute the image.

*Usage in Europe or the USA is prohibited under this license. Buyers from these terrritories must puchase the Above the line license for ALL Advertising uses.

Images downloaded under the ‘Advertising One Off – Below the line’ license can only be used for a single use within an advertising context in the following categories:
Usages permitted under this license include:

Brochure
Point of Sale
Magazines (advertorial)
Newspapers (advertising)
Web
Mobile
Book inserts

If you wish to use the image for more than a single use, then you need to purchase one of the Advertising 12 Month or Advertising On-going Non-Exclusive licenses.

The license is non-exclusive and the image will continue to be available for purchase to other buyers on our site.  Buying the high-resolution image (purchasing the license) does not transfer the copyright. Editorial – Full Page:

Images downloaded under the ‘Editorial – Full Page’ license can be used once within editorial context for full page editorial use.
The license is non-exclusive and the image will continue to be available for purchase to other buyers on our site.  The high-resolution images that you download with the editorial license may be used to illustrate truthful articles or broadcasts appearing in magazines, newspapers or any other editorial context, in either printed or electronic media. Buying the high-resolution image (purchasing the license) does not transfer the copyright. You may not claim that the image is your own and you may not sell, license for use, or in any way distribute the image.  Special ethical considerations apply to editorial usage. When using or submitting editorial images, you are solely responsible for any claims related to or arising from any visual adjustments of the images. Standard manipulation such as cropping the image or regular brightness/contrast corrections are allowed only if doing this will not affect the visual message of the image. We reserve the right to refuse any image submission that we consider as not marketable.

Editorial – Half Page:

Images downloaded under the ‘Editorial – Half Page’ license can be used once within editorial context for a half page or less image reproduction size.

The license is non-exclusive and the image will continue to be available for purchase to other buyers on our site.  The high-resolution images that you download with the editorial license may be used to illustrate truthful articles or broadcasts appearing in magazines, newspapers or any other editorial context, in either printed or electronic media. Buying the high-resolution image (purchasing the license) does not transfer the copyright. You may not claim that the image is your own and you may not sell, license for use, or in any way distribute the image.  Special ethical considerations apply to editorial usage. On-going Non-Exclusive License (Below the line Only):

Images downloaded under the ‘On-going Non-Exclusive’ license allow you to use the image as many times as you like*. In other words, there are no license fees except the initial fee and no other royalties to be paid except those included in the initial cost*.

Point of Sale
Magazines (advertorial)
Newspapers (advertising)
Web
Mobile
Book inserts

*If you are an advertising agency, design agency or third party buyer, the image must be purchased for each different company or entity that you wish to use the image for.
*You may not distribute the image to other third parties for commercial use.

The On-going Non-Exclusive license is granted ONLY for the high-resolution, non-watermarked image (the one that is bought using the download button); all the other versions (small watermarked and non-watermarked thumbnails which are visible on the public site) are entirely copyrighted.

Additional Requirements for Buyers

Images included within the editorial section may include visible logos, or identifiable persons who didn't sign a model release document. You are solely responsible for the usage given to such images. Please consider that editorial images are not meant for commercial usage and using them in a commercial context is against editorial terms.
Each photographer that contributes to our site and community is entirely responsible for the materials he/she uploads. By uploading files you agree to hold all copyrights for the image and to have previously obtained a model release from each person included in your picture. This includes children, deceased persons, natives of another language; cases in which a parent, a guardian or another authorized person should read, agree and sign the model release. snapestock.com.au will not be held responsible for any of the materials you upload to the site.
